“It’s Our Turn”

As some of the Southern states have already begun Turkey season, the Midwest joins the pursuit for Eastern Wild Turkeys during the month of April. Nebraska kicks off the season with archery; beginning March 25 and going through May 31; followed by North Dakota on April 8. “Snow Geese Rain”

During the month of March, Midwest staffers, from left to right, Tyler Wolf (KS), Heather Sellon (MI), Todd Sellon (MI), Andy Meeks (MN), and Delaney Pfeiffer (IN) ventured to Mound City, Missouri to hunt with Squaw Creek Hunt Club and owner Scott Croner. The group participated in a Conservation hunt, as there are too many Snow Geese for the ecosystem to support. For the majority of the staffers, this was their very first time chasing Snow Geese. To say it was exciting is an understatement. When action picked up, it was a constant flurry of volleys, which made it challenging to keep the guns loaded. The group ended up putting 15 birds on the ground and saw hundreds of thousands each day. Owner Scott and guide Joe did a phenomenal job making us feel welcomed and providing opportunities for success. Tyler Wolf executed the most impressive shot, bagging two birds with one shot. If you’re planning on a Snow Goose Hunt in the Midwest, check out Squaw Creek Hunt Club in Mound City, Missouri. You will not be disappointed!
